Tall people often miss out when it comes to Adirondack chairs as they are a low sitting chair by nature. However, this model has a slightly higher seat that measures 15″ from ground level. The total height of the chair is 40.5″, which is also very tall for an Adirondack chair. Giving the tall people the back rest and the seat height they deserve.
Pine: While pine takes more maintenance than teak, it is far more affordable. This light wood slowly fades to an attractive gray. As a softwood, it’s more susceptible to dings, scratches, and, unfortunately, bugs. You’ll need to refinish it every year or two to keep the wood looking its best and to help protect it from the weather. But if upkeep doesn’t worry you and you’re on a tight budget, pine is an excellent choice.

You may find it helpful to loosen the bolts in the pivot spacer to make unfolding the assembly easier. Next, attach the seat to the front legs using (2) 1 7/8" bolts, (2) 1/4" washers, and (2) 1/4" nylock nuts. Tighten with a 7/16" wrench and the provided 4mm T-handle hex key. For quicker assembly you can use a drill and a 4mm hex bit instead of the provided hex key. Finally, insert the adirondack pins into the seat of the chair. You can use a soft mallet to tap the pins into place. If you loosened the bolts in the pivot spacer before step 1, go ahead and tighten those at this time. If you have any questions or need any additional support, please feel free to contact us.

Something else that you might want to consider is looking for a chair that has waterproof or water-resistant hardware. Even though the plastic won’t be affected by the weather, the hardware certainly could be. The last thing you want is to have your new chairs ruined by some unsightly rust stains.

Absolutely! You can spray paint wicker, but be sure to clean (and dry) very thoroughly and then use a multi-material primer layer. I painted mine white so the white primer acted like a base coat anyway….
Here are other brands/types at Costco.com for a bit less, but none are blue. (Costco has a different white chair in the stores now, for only $129.99 per chair. Made by "Leisure Line") Thank you for this. I ordered the polywood set that comes with the table. I guess it costs more than the white one in store but reviews are great and there’s also a 20 year warranty. Fingers crossed! Thank you for this. I ordered the polywood set that comes with the table. Hey Diane! You definitely want them to be smooth and very clean so the paint will stick. I’m not sure sanding plastic is necessary, but giving them a good scrub is a good idea. If they’re wood, then yes, sand them first.
