It’s a well-known fact that Amish craftsmen (and craftswomen!) have made beautiful, durable furniture for centuries. What you may not know is that now, using modern composite materials, this fine tradition of craftsmanship continues with our beautiful outdoor poly furniture, built in the popular and timeless Adirondack style and the English Garden collection.
Building Adirondack furniture is a time-honored craft. Sturdy and rustic, this furniture can be a beautiful addition to any indoor decor, although it's most often used to set the scene outdoors. There, the furniture is subjected to a lifetime of abuse. Yearly it moves from somewhere hidden away (probably dark and musty winter storage) to front-and-center on the summer stage. Now, hour after hour it is beaten on by intense UV light, drenched in driving rains, then fried again in the summer sun.

Epoxy is good (jamie's suggestion) but if the chair is made of ABS plastic (which is a very common type of plastic) then you can "weld" it using pure acetone. Search "welding ABS with acetone" on YouTube for many examples of this.
Lots of small everyday household products, such as milk jugs, are made with HDPE. When you put those HDPE products in your recycling container, they’re often recycled into bigger everyday household products, such as trashcans, or — you guessed it — outdoor furniture. In the case of HDPE, the recycling process is sometimes referred to as “downcycling” because the original HDPE experiences some changes to its basic property types during the recycling process, and can’t be recycled a second time (when it’s in its outdoor furniture form).
There are two types of wood, hardwoods and softwoods. Hardwoods are denser and have fine and tight grains, making excellent wood for outdoor furniture.

Throughout the 19th century, the bacterial lung disease tuberculosis—known as “consumption” for the way it wasted, or consumed, its victims—had plagued America’s expanding cities. By the time the bacterium causing it was identified in 1882, it was responsible for 1 in 7 deaths worldwide. It was the leading killer in turn-of-the-century New York, where it claimed 9,630 lives in 1900, a rate of 280 per 100,000.

I have accepted that I am a person who buys cheap lawn umbrellas every season for $25-$35, because I WILL leave them out during a storm. And the expensive ones don't hold up any better when they blow sideways.
Treating the wood could be an option if you opt for species without natural termite repellent secretions. But for anyone who prefers chemical-free wooden furniture, go with wood that has oils and sap that naturally stave off insects.
I would imagine your garage is too humid. Spray paint takes longer to fully cure if it’s humid.
