You are really going to enjoy using these this summer. We made templates of our Adirondack chair pattern pieces out of luan. Now when we make new ones, it’s easy to trace where to cut on the wood. Our first set, made years and years ago, finally rotted to the point that we had to throw them out, so making a new set is on our spring “to-do” list. .
From 1900-1903, Lee worked on making this new chair. In order to perfect it, he had his family members test out each prototype before moving on to the next. Eventually, Lee came up with what he considered the perfect chair: wide armrests, a high back, and a slanted seat (the seat and back were made from single pieces of wood).

Building Adirondack furniture is a time-honored craft. Sturdy and rustic, this furniture can be a beautiful addition to any indoor decor, although it's most often used to set the scene outdoors. There, the furniture is subjected to a lifetime of abuse. Yearly it moves from somewhere hidden away (probably dark and musty winter storage) to front-and-center on the summer stage. Now, hour after hour it is beaten on by intense UV light, drenched in driving rains, then fried again in the summer sun.

Do you think this will work on resin wicker furniture (walmart kind not the fancy JoPa kind!)
Commonly used in building materials as porch and deck flooring, poly resin (CPVC) is a mixture of recycled wood pulp and resin. This material is environmentally friendly and basically indestructible. Color is blended through the material as part of the material creation process, so there is no risk of the color scraping off or anything. The material is designed to be out in virtually all weather and largely can handle snow without difficulty (we still recommend covering poly resin chairs in winter, though).
2. Donate It: Pack up your old-to-you plastic furniture and take it to a Goodwill or similar donations-based thrift store, so someone else can have a new-to-them patio set.

The seat is another positive for this chair. While many Adirondack chairs have very low seats, this model sits at a comfortable height, which makes it much easier for folks to get in and out. The only real drawback to this otherwise excellent model is that the seat is not very wide. It is still wide enough to accommodate most people, but it might not be quite as roomy as they would like if they are on the larger side.
The thing we should look at with this Lifetime chair is it’s heavy duty rating. Yea it’s good, but where it lacks is in the market for people above 300 lbs whom need wider seats. The colors are limited and has a smaller warranty from the Manufacturer.
