Oak is impervious to decay and is also termite resistant. There are two types of oak: red oak and white oak. Red oak is a porous wood and absorbs moisture quickly. It must be oil-sealed regularly.
While most colors will only need to be cleaned a few times a year, colors like white, gray, or ivory and other lighter colors will need to be cleaned more often to maintain their original beauty. For the lighter colors, rub the furniture with a soft bristle brush and rinse off with warm, clean water. If needed, you can use a high-pressure washer; be sure to hold the nozzle more than 12″ away from the furniture when using the pressure washer.
Another big plus for this chair is that it can be folded up for easy transportation or storage. Even if you want to take these chairs on vacation or to a neighborhood picnic, you shouldn’t have any issue packing it up and taking it along with you on your journeys.

You can fold your poly lumber furniture for convenient and easy storage. The biggest problem most people have with the standard Adirondack chairs is the inability to fold them and store them easily. That is not a concern with the “new and improved” poly furniture!

Hey Becky, Did you clean the chairs really well before applying? This hasn’t happened to me, but I’m sorry you are having trouble. It may very much depend on how old the plastic is and if it is able to absorb the paint. Also did you happen to use a primer?
