Pine: While pine takes more maintenance than teak, it is far more affordable. This light wood slowly fades to an attractive gray. As a softwood, it’s more susceptible to dings, scratches, and, unfortunately, bugs. You’ll need to refinish it every year or two to keep the wood looking its best and to help protect it from the weather. But if upkeep doesn’t worry you and you’re on a tight budget, pine is an excellent choice.

I ordered the Basic Adirondack package in white about a year ago and I am already shopping for more! The two chairs and table held up great in the upstate NY seasons and cleaned up well this past fall for storage. (I) love they fold up and don’t take a lot of space in the shed. I live on the border of Adirondack Park so I had a lot of options for Adirondack chairs. These folks had the best price for the quality that I could find in my shopping experience.

I’ve tried rinsing them, and scrubbing them, but it just seemed to make them worse, and I’d get less dirty sitting on the ground…which sorta defeats the purpose of a chair right? But I am just not okay with getting rid of them before I try to fix them and I am so glad I did!

The Lifetime Adirondack Chair 60064 [Amazon Link] [Wayfair Link] is a great poly Adirondack chair for those on a budget. This unit is comfortable and attractive, with a simple design and a slightly curved back.
The best explanation for the design change is the difficulty in mass-producing chairs made from a single, knot-free plank. To make construction easier and sell their own chairs, different carpenters began to innovate the Westport chair design.
Assembly is simple: screw in the two bolts on the sides, and insert the pegs into the sides. Voila, Adirondack chair ready for sitting! To fold the chair up, remove the pegs and you’re done.
Ipe wood lasts a good 3-5 decades without any finish or treatment and even much longer when treated, finished, and maintained periodically.
If you are in the market for a chair that you don’t need to put away each season and can stand up to whatever mother nature can dish out, then this is going to be the right option for you. This chair is made out of extremely durable Polywood lumber. This plastic lumber has been specially treated and manufactured in the USA to be completely weatherproof. No matter what type of weather it is put through, it will stand the test of time and keep looking great. This lowers the amount of maintenance that is needed to keep the chairs looking at their best, which is a big plus.
Adirondack chairs with a center slat are less easy on the bones. Another advantage showed up when I stored the chairs for winter. They stack. Our shed is small, but a tower of chairs fits just fine.
