They are offered in only two color options, which is a bit of a downer, but given the price, is reasonable.
Polywood’s chairs are virtually identical to the Trex-branded chairs reviewed below, though they are definitely cheaper and come in a more interesting range of colors. In fact, Polywood manufactures chairs for the Trex brand, and many of Polywood’s colors will match Trex’s colors. .

Love your idea and the color! Went out and bought the exact same color (satin lagoon). I scrubbed my 2 chairs with a brush and used the hose to rinse and let them dry for hours before painting. Ran out of paint before finishing my second chair. Had to wait about 2-3 weeks to finish a little bit of touch up on 1st chair (due to back problems). I waited at least 3 weeks before even thinking about sitting on it. I also kept it in the garage for several days to dry right after spraying it (so it wouldn’t get rained on). I used an old towel to dry off the raindrops and noticed blue paint! Now I’m afraid to let anyone sit on it. I didn’t use primer. Any suggestions?
At its extreme, the Highwood chair will recline almost to a horizontal bed level of flatness.
Wood is susceptible to damage from prolonged exposure to water and sunlight. The first step to protecting your wood adirondack chairs is a preventative step; always cover or store your chairs (in a dry place) when they are not in use. This will prevent any damage and cut down on your maintenance work.
I thought the Adirondack furniture for kids was cute and a good price. The chair above is $13.60 and I haven’t seen the wooden that low.
Note: Please don't forget to buy pillows and cup holders when you are here to pick up your furniture since we don't ship them.
If you live in a wet climate, you’ll want to use a mold-resistant finish or paint. Varnishes made for boats also work well if you live on the coast where humidity and moisture will be an issue all year.
Rocking chairs: Adirondack rocking chairs have the same comfort and look of a traditional Adirondack chair except the legs are on rockers. If you enjoy the rhythmic comfort of a rocker, you may wish to consider an Adirondack rocking chair; it makes a great addition to a front or back porch.
Plastic chairs are especially durable in comparison to wooden models, which makes them the ideal candidate to keep outdoors at all times. As long as you clean them off every few weeks or at least once a month, you should have no trouble with the chairs for many, many years.
Wood is the traditional choice for Adirondack chairs, going back to the late 1800s. When properly maintained, wood can look gorgeous, and give a classic flair. However, the reality is that keeping your wooden Adirondack chairs in good shape takes work! Sanding, painting, staining, cleaning, patching broken slats, etc. are all painful.
The "plastic welding with heat" option seems the most likely to be successful to me.
Another big positive for this chair is that it is made out of recycled plastics and comes in lots of different colors. This recycled plastic is good for the environment, and the different colors are great for making your décor flow with your outdoor entertaining area. This chair also has color-stay technology, which will keep the colors looking fresh and new for a good long time.
Hi Sandy. I didn’t use primer either but didn’t have this issue so I’m not really sure. I have found that a nice thick coat is better than light coats in this case cause it makes a really hard laquer like finish. Sorry you are having trouble. Wish I was close so I could come take a look!
