How many cans of pant per chair or how many chairs does one can of paint cover? Thank you BTW, do you remember where you got those particular plastic resin Adirondack chairs? I’m asking because the new batch of A-chairs out there have been redesigned and I do not like the so-called lumbar support bump that they have now. Also, I have looked all over for the former design of the matching footstools. The “old” footstools were flat, not sloped like the “new & improved” design. Another case of a redesign that doesn’t meet many customers wants and needs. Thanks!
Fir is resistant to rotting, decay, and insects and it is fairly waterproof. It doesn’t dry, swell, and warp from fluctuations in temperature, moisture, and pressure. The wood expands and contracts uniformly, maintaining stability. .

I just wanted to say thanks for putting together such a sweet deal on the chairs, they are great. I’ve already told a few friends and neighbors about your site so hopefully you’ll get some more business soon. Have a great weekend.
Our new collection of outdoor poly furniture includes dining sets that now have swivel chairs. Come to the store and try the comfort of a rocker which now comes in two different styles: classic and bent poly rockers.

Throughout Saranac Lake, enterprising residents rented homes out as “cure cottages” where tubercular city dwellers could take a chance on the cure. Boarding houses added “cure porches”—spacious, open-air balconies where patients could spend hours outdoors.
The phrase “wilderness cure”—and the reputation of the mountain region as a healing environment—led to the establishment throughout the Adirondacks of sanatoriums to treat growing numbers of TB sufferers seeking to regain their health. Three years after Cook published his account, New York physician Edward Livingston Trudeau likewise turned to the mountains to save his own life. “He basically came up here expecting to die,” says Amy Catania, executive director of Historic Saranac Lake. Trudeau not only survived his tuberculosis but remained to establish a sanatorium and laboratory dedicated to TB research and treatment. By the 1950s, the introduction of antibiotics and other treatments for tuberculosis made the sanatoriums obsolete and cure chairs unnecessary. “When the TB years ended, a lot of them were sent straight to the dump,” says Catania, who still owns one and uses it for reading—until it lulls her into a doze. “They’re really good napping chairs.” Irving Wolpin's "Lawn Chair or Similar Article," patented April 12, 1938 U.S. Design Patent 109,239

Epoxy is good (jamie's suggestion) but if the chair is made of ABS plastic (which is a very common type of plastic) then you can "weld" it using pure acetone. Search "welding ABS with acetone" on YouTube for many examples of this.

Thanks for the info, Corey. I didn’t use primer either and I feel like I used quite a bit of paint. I tried to use a sweeping motion while spraying and I was worried about using too much, but since you mentioned using a thick coat, I guess I didn’t use too much (even though I used more than one can).

You can fold your poly lumber furniture for convenient and easy storage. The biggest problem most people have with the standard Adirondack chairs is the inability to fold them and store them easily. That is not a concern with the “new and improved” poly furniture!

“It is a chair rooted in the history of disease,” is how artist and furniture maker Daniel Mack put it in The Adirondack Chair: A Celebration of a Summer Classic, a 2008 tribute to the quintessential piece of porch furniture.
Our customers often drive several hours to save money on poly outdoor furniture. Folks often express concern, over the phone, that something must be wrong with the furniture seen on this website since the prices are so much lower than poly outdoor furniture sold elsewhere. It is quite common that after our customers see the furniture in person, they load up as many pieces as they can fit in their vehicles. This customer called from New Jersey to reserve maybe a porch swing and maybe some folding Adirondack chairs if they liked the furniture after seeing it in person. They ended up buying 8 folding Adirondack chairs, 1 porch swing, 6 Adirondack footrests, 4 accent tables and 4 bent poly rocking chairs. I think it's fair to say they liked what they saw when they got here!

Hi Sandy. I didn’t use primer either but didn’t have this issue so I’m not really sure. I have found that a nice thick coat is better than light coats in this case cause it makes a really hard laquer like finish. Sorry you are having trouble. Wish I was close so I could come take a look!

Your chairs turned out great. Building them are a lot of work but it’s so worth it. They look great by your workshop!
The rocking chairs are designed exactly like the classic Adirondack chairs, but with one major difference – it has rockers on the bottom! This makes it perfect for placement on the front porch, backyard, or even in an all-season room.

You may find it helpful to loosen the bolts in the pivot spacer to make unfolding the assembly easier. Next, attach the seat to the front legs using (2) 1 7/8" bolts, (2) 1/4" washers, and (2) 1/4" nylock nuts. Tighten with a 7/16" wrench and the provided 4mm T-handle hex key. For quicker assembly you can use a drill and a 4mm hex bit instead of the provided hex key. Finally, insert the adirondack pins into the seat of the chair. You can use a soft mallet to tap the pins into place. If you loosened the bolts in the pivot spacer before step 1, go ahead and tighten those at this time. Bunnell began to build and sell these chairs to the surrounding community, and he soon noticed how popular they were. After modifying the design to make the chair a little narrower, Bunnell patented his Westport chair design in April 1904.
