1. Refinish It: A quick cleanup and a coat of spray paint can have some plastic furniture looking much better than before — maybe so much so that you’ll want to keep it for yourself after all! True Value offers a good step-by-step to do it yourself.
As for dimensions, can we just say this chair is huge and considerably easy to move around too. But I’ll fill you in on the important size measurements. Between the arms you get a generous 23 inches of space and for the actually seat its an extra wide and roomy 25″.
We do not build our chairs with little stick legs or narrow back boards with large gaps between them. We use thick one and a half inch thick boards for the front and back legs which provides more surface area to screw and glue down the seat and arm boards. This makes our chairs tough and sturdy and less likely to split out over time. Now what about the all important Adirondack chair arms? All our original designs feature traditional wide one inch thick arms because simply put they make the classic American iconic chair what it is; without them you would not have that perfect spot to place your drink, plate of food, book or anything else. It is our goal to make our chairs well balanced, eye catching as well as strong and long lasting. No two pieces of wood are exactly the same. This is why it is best for us to assemble our chairs one at a time. Using this type of detailed craftsmanship allows us to make sure that each and every Clarks Original that leaves our shop goes together correctly and is our best. We are very confident that when you get ready to assemble your chair it will go together the way it is suppose too.

The popularity of this updated design spread, and because the chair originated in the Adirondacks, it was widely-known as the Adirondack chair. The exception is in Canada, where the chair is called the Muskoka chair, likely due to its popularity in the Muskoka region.

The only thing to bear in mind with this chair is that the arms have a tendency to flex if you put too much weight on them when you stand up. This can be completely avoided as long as you put your hands on the ends of the arms. If you accidentally hold the middle every once in a while, it won’t negatively affect the chair. If, however, you always place your hands in the middle of the arm, it could break down over time. RELATED: 7 Greatest Adirondack Chairs — Enjoy Style and Comfort Wherever You Need It!
