Maintenance - Most poly furniture simply needs to be sprayed or wiped down with a wet cloth and a mild soap. Since poly outdoor furniture is not painted, customers won’t have to be concerned with repairing chips in paint or maintaining the color of their furniture. In fact, poly-lumber is treated with a UV coating that will protect the pieces from fading.
Few things feel better than whiling away the day on a shady porch, nestled in the deep recline of an Adirondack chair. Its hallmark sloped backrest, canted seat and paddle-like armrests make it easily recognizable far outside its namesake region. Occasionally retitled and regularly reinvented in polyethylene and plastic, the chair has become a fixture on lakeshores in Michigan, beach cottages on Cape Cod and grassy front lawns across the nation.
Hi Levi – Just wanted you to see how beautiful our furniture looks in our deck. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! We are so happy with your work. Please thank everyone who worked on our set 🙂
This is a very unique and beautiful chair as well as a neat replication of the historical chair made by Thomas Lee in 1903. Our Westport chair seat is made with five slat boards for better water drainage rather than using only two like the original historical chair. Our 9 1/4" inch wide arms and beautiful solid one piece back are made just like the original Westport. Available in Mahogany wood only.

The chair Bunnell patented had the same wide armrests, plank back and angled seat as Lee’s invention. But it also included a tufted cushion, a drop-down footrest and what appears to be accommodations for a bedpan. He described it as “a chair of the bungalow type adapted for use on porches, lawns, and at camps, and also adapted to be converted into an invalid’s chair.”
Thanks so much the rocking chairs look so good! Not only are they beautiful they are also very comfortable! Come to Virginia and you can try them out for yourself! A steaming cup of coffee and a sunrise view is waiting on you! ?❤️
While much of the world is taken by this tiny living lifestyle, for us bigger people it’s not really a viable option. […]
But, I found that Gorilla Glue, as posted above, invariably has worked when Crazy Glue did not. Faster, less messy and less work than Epoxy.
Much nicer, right? But it was like putting lipstick on a pig. Paint made them look pretty, but they were still wobbly and rickety. I think we got our money’s worth out of those crappy old Adirondack chairs and now its time for something a bit sturdier and better.
While the dimensions of the whole chair will play a big part in choosing where you will actually use it, the folded dimensions should also be taken into account. The size of the folded chair will let you know where you can store it during the winter months when it is not in use. Even though all of the chairs that fold will get a lot smaller, the PolyTEAK Classic Folding Poly Adirondack Chair is going to be your best option if your storage space is limited.
The Adirondack chair itself was first conceived in 1903 by a man named Thomas Lee. He was working on outdoor chairs for his summer house in the Adirondacks, and built several prototypes for his family and friends, and called it the Westport plank chair.
